Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation

My advanced understanding of anatomy and physiology allows me to conduct a full injury assessment. The use of Orthopaedic Testing allows for checks to be carried out on movement range as well as muscle strength and length. I can also conduct specialist testing for injuries at the acute, sub-acute and chronic stages which allows for advice to be offered on the use of Cryotherapy and Thermotherapy treatments as well as Kinesiology Taping.

Advanced Sports Massage helps monitor tissue responses throughout the treatment and evaluations can be made on the effectiveness and need for adapting techniques towards the overall rehabilitation plan.

Rehabilitation often requires input from Sports Therapists following an injury or a surgical operation. This has become a high-demand service due to lengthening NHS waiting lists and the recognised benefits of high-quality Sports Injury and Musculoskeletal Therapy. I personally recommend Rehabilitation Treatment in conjunction with Exercise Therapy to improve movement and performance of everyday tasks.

By using Advanced Exercise Therapy, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Advanced Proprioception for joints, Spectrum of Movement, Kinetic Chain Assessments, MOTUS, Primal Movement, Gait Analysis and Biomechanics, the outcome will be greater stability, mobility and reduction in pain, whatever the initial injury or condition.

Electrotherapy, particularly Microcurrent Electrical Therapy and Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation, can provide quick and sustainable relief from acute, chronic and post-operative pain by transferring a tiny electric current through the body. This therapy produces residual and cumulative results that encourage the body’s systems to work better. Electrotherapy is also extremely effective at encouraging soft tissue repair.

By combining all of the above treatments and techniques, I provide comprehensive assessments and effective treatment for lower and upper limb pathologies as well as spinal pathologies.
